This nine year old girl came to us with an anterior open bite, in which there is an open space between the upper and lower front teeth and generalized spacing of her anterior teeth. Her upper jaw was also quite narrow. Treatment was accomplished with an expander for the upper teeth, as well as, partial upper braces. Her excellent results achieved with this phase of treatment will prevent her from needing full braces as a teenager. This case is a great example of the benefits of early intervention.
