This 10 year old boy had a cross-bite on the right side of his mouth due to a narrow upper jaw. This also caused a shifting of the center line of the lower teeth. Early intervention is necessary in a case like this in order to prevent the lower jaw from growing asymmetrically. An expander was used to widen the upper arch and an appliance, called a bite block, was worn on the lower teeth. Partial braces were also used to complete the treatment. The total treatment time was one year resulting in a functional and esthetic smile.
