Meet Dr. Alexander Waldman
Alexander Waldman, DMD, MS
I take immense pride in being a part of a profession that allows me to improve the lives of people around me every day. I love coming to the office every morning and seeing the beautiful smiles we’re creating for some truly wonderful people. My patients range from children to adults, and I enjoy the unique aspects of being around such a diverse group. For kids, I love watching them grow up before my eyes and seeing their self-confidence emerge as their smiles progress. I also enjoy meeting and getting to know our adult patients, as they come from all walks of life and different professions. There is really nothing else I would rather do!
Education and Experience
I received both my Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. While in dental school, I received an award from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities for my research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I also received the National Board Achievement Award as well as the Crest Award for Dentistry for the elderly. Upon graduation from dental school, I was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society.
I completed my fellowship in orthodontics at Harvard University, where I also received my Master of Medical Science degree in the field of Oral Biology. Upon completion of my studies, I was the recipient of the prestigious Dr. Joseph L. Henry Award for Overall Achievement in Clinical and Research Training and Contribution to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
I attend continuing education courses all over the country, far beyond the state's requirements, to stay on top of the latest developments and technology in order to better serve my patients. I particularly like to take courses in advanced topics that help expand my knowledge base beyond routine orthodontics.
I am proud to be a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and am an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- American Board of Orthodontics
- American Dental Association
- Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics
- Los Angeles Dental Society
- Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity
In addition to my private practice, I am also involved in orthodontic education and am currently on staff at the Wadsorth Medical Center in Los Angeles, where I teach interdisciplinary dentistry and orthodontics.
Outside the Office
Originally from New York City, I moved to Los Angeles with my wife, Talya, and our daughters, Ma'ayan, Adira, and Keren. When I am not in the office, I enjoy photography, playing the classical guitar, singing, and exercising. I am also very active in my community though many local organizations.
